Virtual MoU Signing, Universitas Syiah Kuala and Visayas State University

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony between Universitas Syiah Kuala
(USK) and Visayas State University (VSU), Philippines, was held virtually on Thursday, 9
December 2021.


The unitedly agreed efforts are spearheaded towards accomplishing highly ambitious and
mutually beneficial envisioned achievements of both institutions.

The agreement was signed by Prof. Dr. Ir. Samsul Rizal, M.Eng., IPU., ASEAN.Eng., Rector of
USK, and Dr. Edgardo E. Tulin, President of VSU under the witness of representatives from
both parties.

The collaborative partnership is, thus, initiated to mutually and effectively promote and foster the relationship through cooperation in teaching, research, and extension activities.

Rector of USK stated, “It is such a pleasure for us to build a collaboration with the distinguished
university, Visayas States University. We hope after this ceremony, both universities will be able
to create a strong university network and arrange academic programs in the future”.

“It is a great pleasure to form a partnership with University Syiah Kuala, as the largest and the
oldest national university in Indonesia. We are looking forward to mutual benefits and more
collaborations especially in research and development”, the President of VSU said.

Attended on the ceremony from USK, Prof. Dr. Hizir, Vice-Rector for Planning, Collaboration
and Public Relations, Dr. Muzailin Affan, M.Sc., Chairman of Office of International Affairs,
Deans of Faculty, Academic staffs, Office of International Affairs staffs, and others, while from
the VSU, Dr. Beatriz S. Belonias, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Ma. Juliet M.
Ceniza, Vice President for Research, Extension, and Innovation, Dr. Anabella B. Tulin, Dean of
Office of the Graduate School, Dr. Ana Marquiza M. Quilicot, Head of International Affairs
Office, Dr. Catherine C. Aradazza, Secretary of Office of the Graduate School, Mr. Mark
Florence Ygana, Support Staff of International Affairs Office, and Mr. Mark Joshua Quevedo,
Support Staff of Office of the Graduate School.

In addition, Visayas State University (VSU) is a globally competitive university of science,
technology, and environmental conservation and is located in the city of Baybay, province
of Leyte, Philippines.
