USK Welcomes Philippines Ambassador to Indonesia
On 15 August 2023, the Philippines Ambassador to Indonesia, Ms. Gina A. Jamoralin Ph.D, visited Universitas Syiah Kuala for a courtesy call with Prof. Dr. Ir. Agussabti, M.Si., IPU, Vice-Rector for Academic of Universitas Syiah Kuala.
Both discussed potential points of cooperation between Universitas Syiah Kuala and Philippines universities.
“Universitas Syiah Kuala intends to strengthen or build cooperation with many universities from various countries, including universities in the Philippines. The collaboration includes activities in the fields of academics, joint research, and humanitarian programs”, said the Vice-Rector.
In addition, the ambassador expressed his appreciation to the University.
“This is our first visit to Universitas Syiah Kuala, Banda Aceh, and we are very happy to be able to visit and are grateful for the friendly welcome from USK,” said the Ambassador.
Besides, the Philippine Ambassador invited the USK to participate in the Education Exhibition at the Philippine Embassy in Jakarta in March 2024.
Recently, the university has 5 international students from the Philippines, 2 of them are studying at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Accounting Major, and each at the Faculty of Nursing, Nursing Major, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Communication Science Major, and Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Bahasa Indonesia Major.
Attended at this meeting the Vice-Rector for Planning, Partnerships and Business of USK, Dr. Ir. Taufiq S., M.Eng., IPU, Chairman of Office of International Affairs, Dr. Muzailin Affan, and staff, Philippines International students, and others.
