Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK) has officially sent off six students to participate in the International Credit Transfer (ICT) student exchange program to three different countries. The release event ceremony was held in the Rector’s Mini Room, on Tuesday, 6 August 2024.

These students are from various study programs. Muhammad Khalis Qasthari from Civil Engineering, and Afdhalul Rizki Muhammad from Accounting, will study at the Indian Institute of Technology, India. Meanwhile, three other students, Fatiya Quzza and Willy Jonathan Arsyad, from Informatics, and Arifa Ulya from Industrial Engineering, will study at the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Malaysia. The remaining one, Bintang Yosari from Accounting, will study at Mae Fah Luang University, Thailand.

The ICT program recognizes the study load and the learning outcomes achieved by students at the partner universities abroad. Previously, the Office of International Affairs (OIA) announced the ICT information to all faculties and prepared proposals with attachments of the Letter of Acceptance (LoA) received from partner universities, as well as a list of selected students to be submitted to the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology.

“The students will participate in the student exchange program for one semester,” explained Dr. Muzailin Affan, M.Sc., the Chairman of OIA.

USK Rector, Prof. Dr. Ir. Marwan, extended his congratulations to the students for this prestigious opportunity, highlighting the success in passing the selective proposal process.

“Use this opportunity to learn more and engage in academic activities. The experience of studying abroad is precious for both the present and the future,” advised Prof. Marwan.

Furthermore, the Rector reminded USK students participating in the program to not only attend classes in India, Thailand, and Malaysia but also to actively engage in other campus activities.

“USK consistently encourages students to study abroad for the enhancement of human resources in Aceh and Indonesia,” said the Rector.
