USK Signed MoA with the University of Minnesota to Expand Global Opportunity
Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK), Faculty of Agriculture, signed a memorandum of agreement (MoA) with the University of Minnesota (UMN), Department of Bioproducts & Biosystems Engineering, on 2 February 2023. The partnership will benefit both universities through several various academic activities such as International Conference on Agriculture and Bioindustry (ICAGRI), World Class Professor Program, Joint Research, Joint Publication, Joint Seminar, Visiting Scholar Program, Student Exchange Program, and so on.
The Rector welcomed this partnership chance gladly with the University of Minnesota. He hoped through this partnership, could increase the education quality and global partnership, to reach the level of the World Class University.
Prof. Dr. Gary R. Sands, as the representative from UMN and Head of the Department of Bioproducts & Biosystems Engineering also pleased to have the opportunity to build a partnership and conduct several academic activities with Universitas Syiah Kuala soon. During the meeting, he introduced the UMN briefly, as well as proposed programs that could be arranged together, one of them is Internationalization through Culture Program.
In addition, Prof. Dr. Gary R. Sands has visited Aceh since 1987 intending to conduct academic partnerships with several universities including Universitas Syiah Kuala.
The ceremony was attended by Dr. Ir. Taufiq S., M.Eng., IPU, Vice-Rector for Planning, Cooperation & Public Relations, Dr. Muzailin Affan, M.Sc., Chairman of Office of International Affairs, Prof. Dr. Taufik Fuadi Abidin, S.Si., M.Tech, Head of LP2M, and Prof. Dr. Ir. Samadi, M.Sc, Dean of Faculty of Agriculture.
