USK Participated at EURIE Education Expo in Turkey

Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK) has been selected as one of the Indonesian universities appointed by the Directorate General of Science, Technology, and Higher Education of the Ministry of Education and Culture to participate in the Eurasia Higher Education Summit (EURIE) 2024 in Istanbul, Turkey. The event took place from February 26 to 29, 2024.
EURIE is an annual international higher education conference and exhibition that connects the dynamic higher education sector in the Eurasia region with the world. EURIE also addresses current issues in higher education internationalization and key topics in higher education management with the participation of prominent speakers and sector leaders.
Through various panels, plenary sessions, roundtables, and workshops, participants have the opportunity to explore trends, best practices, and innovative solutions in international education.
In this event, Prof. Dr. Ir. Taufiq Saidi, M.Eng, the Vice Rector for Planning, Partnerships, and Business of USK, personally attended to introduce USK to visitors. He was accompanied by Dr. Mirza Tabrani, SE, M.BA, representing the MWA, as well as Dr. Muzailin Affan, the Chairman of the Office of International Affairs, and staff, Ria Ervilita.
“Through this event, USK can become more recognized and competitive at the global level, which aligns with USK acceleration towards becoming a World Class University,” noted Prof. Taufiq.
In this exhibition, USK promoted itself by showcasing various information including the university profile, research profile, TDMRC profile, profiles of several international classes such as Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, IBEP Program, Master of Disaster Science, and others. Additionally, they presented programs such as summer camps, exchange student programs, admissions for foreign students, and profiles and products of the ARC.
At the exhibition, the USK booth attracted various stakeholders including students, practitioners, academics, and business sectors. The ARC (Atsiri Research Center) products received significant attention from participants and visitors.
During the Eurie event, the USK booth was also visited by the President of the Turkish Higher Education Council, Prof. Dr. Erol Ozvar. He emphasized the strong friendship between Aceh and Turkey, highlighting the importance of furthering this relationship.
Consul General in Istanbul, Darianto Harsono, also visited the USK stand and expressed appreciation for USK’s presence at the EURIE event and hoped to enhance cooperation with various higher education institutions in Turkey specifically, and in the Eurasia region in general.
Prof. Taufiq explained that the primary goal of participating in the EURIE event was to build international networks. USK successfully form collaborations with several universities and higher education institutions present at the EURIE event.
8 MoU documents were signed during the event, with Istanbul Aydin University, Turkey, Duzce University, Turkey, Navoiy Innovation University, Uzbekistan, Eurasian National University, Kazakhstan, Superior University, Pakistan, Al-Mustaqbal University, Iraq, An-Najah National University, Palestine, and Cyprus Science University, Cyprus.
Additionally, the remaining 6 MoU documents were with Marmara University, Turkey, Altinbas University, Alanya University, University of Agronomic Sciences and Veterinary Medicine Of Bucharest, Belarusian University, Belarus, and Azerbaijan National University.
“More importantly, the follow-up from these MoU documents is crucial, where each university agrees to promptly engage in joint activities such as staff and student mobility, participating in conferences, collaborative research, and other academic endeavors,” he concluded.
