USK International Students Share Cultural Insights in English CCU Class

International students from the Bahasa Indonesia for Foreign Speakers (BIPA) Program at Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK), who are awardees of the Developing Countries Partnership Scholarship (KNB), served as guest speakers in a Cross-Cultural Understanding (CCU) class of the English Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) USK, on 29 September 2025. The session was facilitated by FKIP English lecturer, Ms. Chairina Nasir.

During the session, BIPA participants from countries such as Botswana, Malawi, Papua New Guinea, Afghanistan, Tanzania, Solomon Islands, and Kyrgyzstan delivered presentations showcasing the rich cultural diversity of their homelands. They introduced traditional clothing, customs, and signature cuisines, providing students with vivid insights into their unique cultural backgrounds.

The CCU class students showed great enthusiasm and curiosity throughout the interactive session. The discussion fostered a lively atmosphere and broadened their global perspectives, emphasizing the importance of cross-cultural understanding in today’s interconnected world.

This collaborative activity between the BIPA Program and the English Education Study Program reflects USK’s strong commitment to promoting international cultural exchange and nurturing global-mindedness within its academic community.
