USK Holds Workshop to Strengthen BIPA Teaching Competence

Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK), through its Office of International Affairs (OIA), organized a Workshop on Strengthening BIPA (Indonesian Language for Foreign Speakers) Teaching Competence, on 22 August 2025. The program gathered USK’s BIPA instructors and invited experts from the Aceh Language Center, Novita Maharani, S.S. (BIPA) and Atikah Adoria, S.Pd. (UKBI), as keynote speakers.
The workshop was officially opened by Drs. Mukhlis, Coordinator of the BIPA Program at USK. In his opening remarks, he highlighted the importance of the event in enhancing instructors’ professionalism and expressed hope that it would further equip them with effective teaching strategies to support international students.
The sessions covered BIPA teaching methods and the Indonesian Language Proficiency Test (UKBI), followed by collaborative discussions where participants designed classroom plans and exchanged best practices.
This initiative not only broadened instructors’ knowledge of BIPA and UKBI but also strengthened peer collaboration. With such programs, USK continues to improve the quality of its BIPA instruction, ensuring international students gain a meaningful and effective learning experience in Bahasa Indonesia.
