USK and DAAD Hosted Info Session on Studying in Germany
Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK), in collaboration with the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), organized an online information session on 20 March 2024. The purpose of this event was to provide information regarding studying and conducting research at universities in Germany with scholarships. Besides, the event encouraged USK students to pursue education abroad especially in Germany.
Dr. Muzailin Affan, the Chairman of the Office of International Affairs of USK, emphasized that the info session could serve as a valuable resource for students interested in pursuing studies or research in Germany. He also highlighted the importance of this information session about scholarships, as it would greatly assist students in obtaining information about studying in Germany, a country known for its advancements in economics and technology.
“I hope this event can be a platform for students to seek consultation or discussion regarding studying in Germany,” he concluded.
Meanwhile, Muji Rahayu, a representative from DAAD and Deputy Director of the Jakarta Regional Office, briefly presented information about DAAD and outlined various degree and non-degree programs offered, such as Student Visit, Summer Courses for Learning German, Study Scholarships, Research Grants, and other.
The session also invited an alumni, Dinaroe, SE., MBA.,Ak.,CA,ASEAN CPA, who shared his experience of studying and living in Germany, as well as motivation for studying abroad. He is a lecturer at the Faculty of Economics and Business of USK.
He mentioned that pursuing further education in Germany is highly accessible, with plentiful opportunities available. Particularly for students from Aceh and Muslim backgrounds, he noted the ease of finding halal food and the presence of Acehnese communities in Germany that welcome students.
