Teaching in Global Level through SEA-Teacher PROGRAM

Charlene Mae E. Mora, James Carlo P. Frias, and Jorem A. Lampago are student teachers of SEA-Teacher Program that have proudly completed their pre-service teaching program at Syiah Kuala University. Each of them has taught Math and English at Senior High School of Laboratory School of Syiah Kuala University for one month, September 2019.

Dr. Hizir, the Vice-Rector for Collaboration and Public Relations of Syiah Kuala University, congratulated for their achievement on the closing ceremony held on October 1st, 2019, at Rectorat Building of the university.

“Congratulations to you all and you all have done the best, and also my appreciation for the advisors from the university and school who have given the students the best guide”, Dr. Hizir said.

Besides, Dr. Hasan, the Vice Dean of Education and Teacher Training Faculty on that occasion stated that Syiah Kuala University has joined in the SEA-Teacher program since 2016. Recently Syiah Kuala University has assigned 37 students to participate in the program in several universities in Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam. On the contrary, Syiah Kuala University has welcomed 24 foreign students from Thailand and Philippines universities to be assigned in the Laboratory School of Syiah Kuala University in Banda Aceh.

SEA-Teacher is a Pre-Service Student Teacher Exchange in Southeast Asia program that offers students from universities in Southeast Asia to have experiences in different environments of teaching in Southeast Asia school. The purposes of this program are to enable students to develop teaching skills and pedagogy, boost students to practice English skills, allow students to obtain a global network, and to expose future teachers to diverse teaching and learning situations and opportunities and the value of flexibility.

Also, Charlene Mae E. Mora, James Carlo P. Frias, and Jorem A. Lampago are foreign students from Central Bicol University of Philippines and the 8th batch participants for SEA-Teacher program.
