Syiah Kuala University Hosted IMT-GT UNINET Workshop 2019
Syiah Kuala University hosted the Workshop of Indonesia-Malaysia-Thailand Growth Triangle University Network (IMT-GT Uninet) 2019. The workshop was held on September 5th – 6th, 2019 in Banda Aceh, Indonesia.
Rector of Syiah Kuala University, Prof. Dr. Ir. Samsul Rizal, M.Eng., said on his opening speech that this workshop was conducted with a purpose to revitalize the exist of University Network that is known as the real achievement of the IMT-GT Program. This meeting of IMT-GT UNINET Strategic Action Plan (2017-2021) is a part of the strategic accomplishment of evaluation that has been conducted in 2017.
“By organizing this workshop we will know our result of work that we have managed, and then we can set up a further plan for the next two years”, he added. He also stated that the meeting of IMT-GT UNINET is an encouragement to expand cooperation of the network between teaching and research stuffs.
The chairman of Office of International Affairs of the university, Dr. Muzailin Affan, M.Sc., said that this workshop was attended by 28 participants from 16 different universities and from three countries they are Indonesia universities; Syiah Kuala University, Universitas Malikussaleh, Universitas Sumatra Utara, Universitas Riau, Universitas Maritim Raja Ali Haji, Universitas Andalas, Institut Teknologi Sumatera, Universitas Bengkulu, Universitas Lampung, Malaysia universities; University of Teknologi MARA (UiTM), University of Malaya (UM), University of Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP), and Thailand Universities; Prince Songkla University, Thaksin University, Walailak University, Rajamangala University.
At the same time, Indonesia UNINET signed a MoU document to build cooperation with Fig Direct SDN BHD of Superfruit Project, and at the last, all participants had a chance to visit Fig Field that is handled under Syiah Kuala University project.
