Office of International Affairs (OIA) in collaboration with the Korean Cultural Center Aceh (KCCA) reopen the on-site Korean language course. During the pandemic, the course was held online which has given several limitations toward language learning activities. Meanwhile, the on-site class, it can give learners certain actual experiences and is surely more interesting during the class activities, in terms of interaction.
The Korean Language Course is handled by Mr. Park, a Korean native who has been teaching the Korean language at Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK), Office of International Affairs. He is an assigned delegation from the University of The Nations (UofN), Jeju. Under the cooperation between both universities, the Korean Language Course was successfully held a long time ago till now.
Before and during the pandemic, the Korean Language Course always becomes the most popular course among USK students and even students from other universities. The local students attend the on-site class while the other students attend the online class. The course is also popular among the public, such as officers and Junior and Senior High School students. The Korean Language Course was held since 2012 up till now.
The recently opened Korean Language Course is held every Monday for the offline class, and Tuesday for the online class in the afternoon. It was started on 14 September 2022. The class duration is one semester and takes place at the OIA office. Earlier, the class took the office of Pusat Bahasa of USK.
OIA always encourages and promotes foreign language learning, as well as promotes the cultures, to support students in increasing their foreign language capability. Besides, this effort is expected to help students in preparing their ability of foreign language for those who want to study abroad.
OIA invites natives to teach foreign language courses so that the learners will be more enthusiastic and motivated to learn a certain language because they can interact directly with them. In that way, the learner can gain remarkable experiences through culture and language learning activities.
Up till now, OIA USK and KCCA successfully hold several language classes such as Korean course, Mandarin course, Arabic course, German course, France course, Turkey course, and English course.
