OIA Prepared Campus to Welcome KNB Scholarship Program

Office of International Affairs (OIA) of Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK) successfully held a socialization about Kemitraan Negara Berkembang (KNB) Scholarship Program on 13 January 2023 at VIP Room, AAC Dayan Dawood, Universitas Syiah Kuala.

KNB is a prestigious scholarship program offered by the government of the Republic of Indonesia to prospective students from developing and bilateral countries. Managed by the Directorate General of Higher Education, Research and Technology, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research & Technology, the scholarship program was first opened in 2006 to 1,608 recipients from 97 countries.

Fortunately, this year, Universitas Syiah Kuala is selected as one of the host universities for the KNB scholarship program. 

Vice-rector for Academic, Prof. Dr. Ir. Agussabti, M.Si., said that this is a great opportunity for USK to promote campus to the global level. Besides, this scholarship program will give advantages, such as achieving the university’s target called IKU (Key Performance Indicator).

“This scholarship program is favorable and gives us a great chance, so we must be with high spirit to share this information to faculties”, said the Vice-rector.

The Chairman of OIA, Dr. Muzailin Affan, M.Sc., said that this program is one of the real contributions of Indonesia to the world. Through this program, Indonesia also can introduce Indonesian culture and language to the international level.

The Chairman also added that through the KNB scholarship program, USK provides 88 study programs to prospective students. The programs consist of 54 study programs for bachelor, 30 study programs for master, and 4 study programs for doctoral. 

“KNB Scholarship program becomes a great opportunity for us, so we hope support from all parties to make this scholarship program success”, he closed.
