Ria Ervilita S.Pd., M.Sc., Project Planning & Collaboration Manager of Office of International Affairs (OIA), Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK) recently attended the Sapienza Staff Week Program hosted by Sapienza University of Rome, Italy, from October 14 to 18 2024. It was joined by around 60 selected delegates from 30 countries, with Universitas Syiah Kuala, Universitas Airlangga, and Universitas Sumatera Utara representing Indonesia in this International Staff Week.
The training provided an invaluable platform for communication, knowledge exchange, and networking among university professionals. Delegates explored partnership opportunities under the EU Erasmus+ Programme, including KA1 and KA2 initiatives, while gaining insights into Sapienza’s management practices and sharing successful strategies and best practices.
Throughout the week, Ria participated in focused discussions on various mobility programs offered by Sapienza, such as PhD courses, double-degree programs, Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility, IISMA Program and Erasmus Mundus Joint Master. She also engaged in forums on inclusion policies, gender equality, and support for students with disabilities and learning challenges.
In addition to the academic exchanges, delegates toured the Sapienza campus, exploring the Botanical Garden, University Art Museum, and MUST (University Museum of Earth Sciences). The program included an Etnomusa performance, immersing participants in local Roman culture.
Reflecting on the experience, Ria expressed the impact of the program on her professional growth. “This Staff Week expanded my insights and international connections, providing best practices and innovative ideas to enhance my administrative skills and broaden USK’s network globally,” she said.
Dr. Muzailin Affan, Chairman of USK’s OIA, commended the initiative. “I am delighted that our staff had this international training opportunity. It brings fresh perspectives and strengthens our commitment to fostering an inclusive and globally engaged university environment. I hope more USK staff can join other such programs in the future.”
