Office of International Affairs (OIA) of Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK) held a Motivational Letter and CV Writing Workshop on October 30, 2024, at the USK Main Library Seminar Room. This workshop aimed to enhance the English writing skills of USK students, particularly in preparing documents for overseas study programs, helping them to make their applications more attractive to universities abroad. Besides, this workshop ultimately empowers students to take charge of their career development, presenting themselves effectively in any application process.
The workshop invited two native English-speaking speakers from the United States, Ariana Leandry and Yana Levy, both fellows from the Oberlin Shansi Program, to provide students with hands-on feedback on their English writing.
The full-day event covered key elements of crafting an engaging curriculum vitae and a clear, impactful Motivational Letter. Additionally, a practical writing session allowed participants to apply what they learned, with direct feedback from the speakers, to improve their work.
“Holding a workshop on writing motivational letters and CVs can be invaluable for USK students, as it prepares them for academic, internship, and career opportunities”, said Dr. Muzailin Affan, the Chairman of the Office of International Affairs.
