The King Sejong Institute (KSI) Banda Aceh, in collaboration with Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK), successfully organized the K-Beauty Workshop from November 4 to 6, 2025, at the USK Postgraduate Building. The event featured a special guest from South Korea, Kang Jung Chang, a cultural expert and professional make-up artist with extensive experience in the Korean beauty industry.

Throughout the three-day program, participants attended two sessions each day. The first session, titled “Achieving Healthy Skin,” focused on the fundamentals of skincare to maintain clean, hydrated, and naturally glowing skin. The advanced session, “Natural Make-up,” provided hands-on guidance on creating a simple yet elegant look that reflects the signature Korean beauty style.

The workshop drew enthusiastic participation from attendees of diverse backgrounds, including university students and public members with a high passion for Korean culture and beauty. Beyond practical skills in skincare and make-up, participants also learned about the philosophy behind Korean beauty, which emphasizes balance between healthy skin and self-confidence.

Dr. Muzailin Affan, Director of King Sejong Institute Banda Aceh and Chairman of the Office of International Affairs of USK, highlighted that this event was part of KSI’s broader mission to introduce Korean culture in a comprehensive way—not only through language, but also through art and lifestyle. “K-Beauty serves as an effective medium to strengthen cultural ties between Indonesia and Korea,” he remarked.

As the workshop concluded, it left participants inspired to maintain healthy skin and deepen their understanding of Korean culture, while also fostering friendship and mutual appreciation between Indonesia and Korea through educational and creative activities like the K-Beauty Workshop.
