British Embassy Strengthens Education Cooperation with USK
British Embassy pledges enhanced education collaboration with Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK). This commitment was conveyed by Sam Perkins, Political Advisor of the British Embassy, during his recent visit to USK in Banda Aceh on 24 April 2024.
Accompanied by his team, Ramon Sevilla, Political Officer, and Aviva Nababan, Political Assistant, Sam Perkins received a warm welcome during their visit to USK. The delegation, representing the British Embassy, was cordially greeted by Dr. Iflan Nauval, M. ScIH, Sp.GK (K), Sp.KKLP, AIFO-K, Director of the Directorate of Planning and Partnerships, and Prof. Dr. Mailizar, M.Ed, Vice Chairman of the Office of International Affairs, in the Mini Rector Room of USK.
Dr. Iflan stated that USK is highly interested and open to engaging in partnership with various stakeholders, including the British Embassy. Emphasizing the significance of education, he highlighted the university’s enthusiasm for collaborative research endeavors in this domain.
Sam Perkins expressed his appreciation for the expanding partnership with USK, acknowledging the university’s essential role as one of Aceh’s oldest educational institutions contributing significantly to the region’s educational development. He further indicated their intent to diligently explore and evaluate various opportunities for collaboration with USK.
In addition, at the meeting, USK unveiled its intentions to mark the 20th Anniversary of the Earthquake and Tsunami event. Expressing a desire for involvement or support from the British Embassy, the university seeks to commemorate the profound impact of the disaster that occurred in Aceh.
