Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK) took part in the Indonesia Edu Fair 2025, organized by the Consulate of the Republic of Indonesia on 12–14 November 2025 at Thaksin University in Songkhla, Thailand. The event was officially opened by Indonesia’s Acting Head of Mission/Chargé d’Affaires ad Interim (KUAI) of the Indonesian Consulate General in Songkhla, Mr. Mochammad Rizki Safary.
In his opening remarks, Mr. Safary emphasized that the Indonesia Edu Fair plays an important role in promoting Indonesian higher education institutions to the Thai public. He expressed his hope that the event would attract more Thai students to pursue their studies at universities across Indonesia while strengthening the bonds of friendship between the two countries.
USK was represented at the event by the Chairman of the Office of International Affairs (OIA), Dr. Muzailin Affan, accompanied by staff member Muhajir Huzair. USK also collaborated with its partner, the Diamond Human Resource Foundation, which joined the exhibition and supported the initial screening process for prospective Thai students interested in studying at USK.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Muzailin Affan stated that USK’s participation in the fair is a strategic step to expand its international reach and attract more international students, particularly from Southern Thailand. He expressed hope that more Thai students would consider Universitas Syiah Kuala as their destination for higher education.
“This event is not only an opportunity for USK to showcase our flagship academic programs, but also a platform to strengthen diplomatic ties and educational cooperation between Indonesia and Thailand,” Dr. Muzailin said.
USK’s involvement in the Indonesia Edu Fair 2025 demonstrates the university’s strong commitment to promoting Indonesian higher education internationally, strengthening global networks, and broadening opportunities for foreign students to pursue their studies at Universitas Syiah Kuala.
