USK Participates in Education Exhibition in Malaysia

Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK) participated in the UTM (Universiti Teknologi Malaysia) Mobility Carnival 2024 in Johor Baru, Malaysia, from 27 – 29 May 2024. This educational exhibition was attended by 39 famous universities from 16 countries, including the USK, Indonesia.
The chairman of the Office of International Affairs (OIA) of USK, Dr. Muzailin Affan, stated that USK assigned three delegates to participate in the event. The delegation included the Head of Public Relations & Protocol, Mulyana, and two OIA staff members, Ria Ervilita S.Pd., M.Sc., and Muhajir Huzair S.Ikom.
In this event, the USK delegation aimed to introduce and promote USK, emphasizing that Aceh is a conducive place for further education due to its strategic location between Malaysia and Aceh. “This is a promotional opportunity for USK to attract new international students in the coming years,” Dr. Muzailin Affan said.
“The USK booth received enthusiastic responses from students, staff, and USK’s partner universities in Malaysia,” said Ria Ervilita S.Pd., M.Sc., one of the USK delegates.
USK showcased its university profile, faculties with international programs such as Medical Education, Veterinary Medicine, International Business & Economics Program (IBEP), Master program of Disaster Science, Summer Camp Programs, Student Exchange Programs, and International Student Admission Programs. The Atsiri Research Center (ARC) also promoted its top patchouli oil products during the event.
The USK booth attracted visitors from foreign and local students, UTM academics, and staff. Especially for the ARC product, it attracted significant interest, with nearly all visitors keen to try it. Traditional Acehnese items like the Laka shirt and Kopiah Meukutop also drew the attention of visitors such as visitors from Malaysia and Middle East countries, some of them interested in putting them on.
In addition to the booth, Ria Ervilita S.Pd., M.Sc., delivered a presentation about USK, which was well-attended by exhibition visitors.
