USK Welcomes Delegation from UPSI Malaysia

On May 16, 2024, Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK) welcomed a delegation from Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) at the Balai Senat Room, Biro Building, USK.
Dr. Muzailin Affan, M.Sc., the Chairman of the Office of International Affairs (OIA), met the delegation and delivered a welcoming speech.
“The collaboration between USK and UPSI has been ongoing for a long time, with several successful academic initiatives such as the English Language Education student exchange program to UPSI and the Islamic Ulul Albab Leadership Program,” said Dr. Muzailin Affan.
“Both USK and UPSI were members of the Asia Pacific University Consortium, where they excelled in the field of Education (FKIP – Faculty of Teacher Training and Education). Additionally, both universities were members of the IMT-GT (Indonesia-Malaysia-Thailand Growth Triangle) UNINET (University Network), which comprises 32 member universities collaborating,” he added.
Dr. Muzailin Affan then presented a brief introduction about USK, highlighting various faculties, including the Veterinary Medicine Faculty, which is particularly esteemed in Indonesia, especially at USK.
Associate Prof. Ts. Dr. Che Ghani bin Che Kob, Principal of the Off-campus Residential Unit of UPSI, stated that the delegation’s visit aimed to serve as a platform for exchanging ideas and facilitating discussions between UPSI and USK students.
“UPSI and USK students can discuss various interesting topics that can be implemented at either UPSI or USK in the future,” said Associate Prof. Ts. Dr. Che Ghani bin Che Kob.
Following the campus introduction, the meeting proceeded with presentations, discussions, and a Q&A session between the two universities.
The UPSI delegation comprised 31 students and 6 accompanying staff members. In addition to visiting USK, the delegation planned to visit Kajhu, a village in Aceh Besar known for oyster production, to share knowledge about oyster cultivation with the local community.
