Thailand Delegations Strengthen Academic Ties with USK
Delegations from Thailand paid a visit to the Pasca Sarjana of Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK) on Friday, 12 January 2024. The aim was to enhance the collaboration among USK, Fatoni University, Andaman Anatolian Technology College (AATC), and the Thailand Islamic Cooperative Network.
The all delegations received a warm welcome from Dr. Muhammad Syukri, Vice Director of the Pasca Sarjana, and Dr. Muzailin Affan, Chairman of the Office of International Affairs (OIA) at Pasca Sarjana building, meeting room.
Dr. Muhammad Syukri highlighted the success of numerous academic collaborations between the two parties. He mentioned initiatives such as the exchange of Thailand students coming to study at USK and vice versa, with a focus on the southern region of Thailand.
Initiated by Prof. Syukri Langputeh, Vice Rector of Fatoni University, this collaboration gained momentum and sustained support from leaders of various universities, leading to its continued success.
“The purpose behind sending these students is to cultivate a generation of qualified individuals who can serve as competent academic staff at their home institutions,” added Prof. Syukri Langputeh.
USK and the Thailand delegations expressed their commitment to ongoing support and the further strengthening of collaborations among all involved parties. Discussions during the meeting also encompassed future academic programs, exploring potential cooperation in fields such as marine management, engineering, and beyond. This visit stands as a testament to the enduring commitment to academic excellence and international collaboration between the institutions involved.
