Capacity Building Training to Improve Staff Capacity

To enhance international office staff competence, Office of International Affairs (OIA) of Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK) hosted a short training called Capacity Building Series. It took the theme “Capacity Building for IMT-GT (Indonesia-Malaysia-Thailand Growth Triangle) UNINET (University Network) International Office Staff in Writing”, and was organized virtually on 21 June 2022.
The training was designed for university managers especially international relations officers and IMT-GT UNINET university members who spearhead internationalization initiatives in foreign higher education institutions. It was supposed to share the best practices to expand officers’ professional capacity in developing and providing information, a combination of knowledge, and practical solutions. In the end, the participants are expected to have increased knowledge and fresh insights.
“The team will organize this event regularly with different topics. I hope through this capacity-building series event, we all with 27 university members of UNINET from three countries, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand, can share and discuss together. Moreover, this is a good program for us where we can learn and support each other”, said Dr. Muzailin Affan, Chairman of OIA, in the welcome remark.
The event presented Dr. Drs. Qismullah Yusuf, M.Ed., the resource speaker of the training. He is the university advisor and an education expert. On that occasion, he shared his brief scope of working domestically and internationally he obtained since 1973.
The event was led by Dr. Kismullah, S.Pd., M.App.Ling, Undergraduate Coordinator, English Education Department of Universitas Syiah Kuala, as the moderator.
