VISA Procedures and Regulations Socialization at USK

Immigration Office of Banda Aceh delivered a presentation on VISA procedures and regulations for foreign student, lecturer, and researcher at Universitas Syiah Kuala, 16 June 2022.

The delegations were welcomed by Prof. Marwan, Rector of Universitas Syiah Kuala. He appreciated the delegations’ visitation to the university to hold a socialization. He hoped that this occasion could strengthen the partnership between two parties since the university would have a number of international students, researchers and delegations from various countries.

“This socialization is necessary for the university, so we can know the newest information about immigration stuffs and follow the rules appropriately”, rector said.

The Head of Immigration Office, Telmaizul Syatri, SE, M.Si, through his presentation explained in details the immigrations matters. They covered stuffs like VISA, Stay Permit, Limit Stay Permit, and others. He said that VISA is the main requirement for foreigners if they intend to visit Indonesia. For the foreign researcher and student case, USK must be the guarantor for them.

“Foreign students who enter Indonesia are supposed to study at the university, and they are not allowed to work”, he added.

The chairman of Office of International Affairs, Dr. Muzailin Affan, said that this socialization about immigration is vital for our lecturers and students because our university always assign them to follow a certain program abroad. On the contrary, these rules are significant for international students and researcher. By knowing the rules, they will not be over stay in Banda Aceh.
