OIA Attended USK Fair 2021 to Share Scholarship Info

Dr. Mailizar, S.Pd., M.Ed., OIA Coordinator for Promotion & International Mobility, was
invited to be a speaker on the event titled “Sosialisasi Beasiswa”, hosted by BEM (Student
Executive Board) of Universitas Syiah Kuala, on 15 December 2021 at AAC Dayan Dawood
building, Universitas Syiah Kuala. This scholarship info session event is one of the activities
organized by the BEM Universitas Syiah Kuala Fair 2021.

During the event, Dr. Mailizar encouraged and motivated Universitas Syiah Kuala students to get
a scholarship to formally pursue their educational career, like Master and Doctoral programs, or
Student Exchange programs abroad.
“Today, the amenities for studying abroad have become more easily accessible in terms of
funding, communication, and self-preparation for the candidates to be accepted in a certain
foreign university. Through this kind of info session, the student can obtain information and meet the alumni of a certain program to ask further”, said Dr. Mailizar.

Moreover, in this sharing opportunity, he introduced the Office of International Affairs, the
office that is available for giving study abroad information, and spoke about the annual student
exchange program offered by the Indonesian government, called International Indonesian
Mobility Program (IISMA).

“The increasing numbers and quality of students and academicians pursuing educational
opportunity abroad will give positive impacts to our university, Universitas Syiah Kuala,
especially the university rank”, he added.

After Dr. Mailizar delivered his presentation, the sharing session was then followed by other
motivational speakers, they were Aditya Rivaldy, S.H., LLM, alumnus of Law School (LLM
Maritime Law), University of Southampton, and Sirajul Huda, the outstanding student of
Universitas Syiah Kuala 2019.
