OIA Join the International Staff Training
Ria Ervilita, Dini Andalia Dewi, and Rahmi Hidayati, staffs of Office of International Affairs (OA) of Universitas Syiah Kuala, have signed up to join in International Staff Training Week, held by the University of Seville, Spain, in collaboration with Erasmus+ Program, 12 – 16 July 2021. Besides, the training was attended by other 15 delegates from Tunisia; the University of Monastir and University of Sfax, Morocco; Cadi Ayyad University, Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdellah University, International University of Rabat, Vietnam; Hanoi University, and including Indonesia delegates from the University of Katolik Widya Mandala Surabaya.
The program aimed to qualify and improve higher institutional staffs so they can increase their professionalism through activities such as sharing expertise section. It connected them to other colleagues from a university abroad as long as to build a university network. Further, it was expected that they could develop any particular joint program to achieve the university goals together, share good practices, and expand the collaboration among universities.
Ria Ervilita said, “This is a fruitful training. I gained worthwhile experiences. It made me learn how to promote and represent a university, both numerically and visually. Not only gives an opportunity to build a university collaboration, but it also gives me a chance to know acquaintances from university abroad. Particularly for the library issue, the public services provided by the University of Seville are amazing, it is open for everyone, even for a non-member”.
The staff training program was arranged to had several agendas including the opening and welcoming remark from the University of Seville, which was opened by the Director of the International Center, Rosario Asián Chaves, the introduction about the host university, the presentation about university from each delegate, several workshops related to academic mobility activities for students, and academic and non-academic staff, the international collaboration and university internationalization strategy, the international program management, the university public services, the industry internship program, the strategy to promote university library, and several discussion parallel sessions.
In addition, it was expected that delegations will be able to boost its professionalism on work and enlarge the university links through the collaboration program, as well as to promote the university through academic activities such as internship, exchange program, joint research, humanitarian project, and so on, which might be conducted virtually or directly on the field. Besides, at the end of this program, the staff is expected to have a connection with representatives from the University of Seville and its faculties. In this chance, OIA staffs had their time to discuss further cooperation with several representatives from the Faculty of Economy, University of Seville.
Attended in the program trainers and guests from the University of Seville, Carlos J. Ordoño Rodríguez, Head of Section Welcome and Incoming Mobility, Ángel Luis Trigo García, Director of International Strategy, Rosario Asián Chaves, Director of the International Center, Rosario López Ruiz, Technical Director of International Relations, Office Head of Section Welcome and Incoming Mobility, and deans of faculty.
“This training gave positive feedbacks. I got to know the advanced and fresh view and knowledge on internationalization strategy of university, also this gave me a chance to have a possibility to build a university cooperation” Dini Andalia Dewi added.
