Banda Aceh Immigration Office holds a Socialization on Immigration Affairs during Covid-19
In response to the Covid-19 outbreak that becomes a pandemic issue across more than 150 countries, the Indonesia government issued temporary prohibitions of entry and/or transit into Indonesia for every foreigner. This prohibition is stipulated on the Ministry of Law and Human Rights Regulation No.11 the Year 2020 concerning Temporary Prohibition for Foreigners to Enter the Territory of the Republic of Indonesia.
27 April 2020, Aznar Anas, the Head of Immigration Office Class I TPI Banda Aceh delivered socialization about stay permit for foreigners during the pandemic outbreak, at Universitas Syiah Kuala dormitory auditorium.
He said during the pandemic, foreigners or foreign students of Universitas Syiah Kuala with Visit Stay Permit, including those who already enter Indonesia with Visa Exemption or Visa on Arrival whose stay permit is expired and/or cannot be extended, they will be given a Force Majeure Stay Permit Automatically by the government without prior application to local Immigration Office and free. This also happens to foreigners who hold Temporary Stay Permit or Permanent Stay Permit.
Besides, the prohibition applies to all foreigners with the exceptions of foreigners who hold Temporary Stay Permit or Permanent Stay Permit in Indonesia, Indonesia Diplomatic Visa or Indonesia Service Visa, Diplomatic Stay Permit or Service Stay Permit in Indonesia, Medical Aid Workers or Food Sustenance Workers for Humanitarian Purposes, Crews (Air, Sea, or Land Transport), and Foreigners/Expatriates working on Strategic National Projects.
The socialization explained with details related to technical of extending, postponement, rejection, and exception stay permit for foreigners.
Those certainties above will be end till the Covid-19 case is declared clear officially by the Indonesia government or the competent party.
