What is a USK partial scholarship?

The USK Partial Scholarship is a financial assistance program provided by Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK) to support international students in pursuing their studies in Indonesia. 

SCHOLARSHIP COVERAGE

  • Tuition Fee (Degree Program only) 

Tuition fee for each semester (depending on the selected program)

Once-off development fee (depending on the selected program)

Registration fee for Bachelor and Master’s degree programs

Pre-session Bahasa Indonesia Course (for those not taking an International Class)

Registration Procedure

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor & Master Degree: 

  1. Recent passport-sized photograph with a RED background 
  2. Scanned original passport (cover page and front page) 
  3. Scanned original certificate of highest education completed (eg. Grade 12 Certificate for Bachelor degree or Bachelor degree certificate for Master’s degree) (must be in English or Bahasa Indonesia) 
  4. Scanned original academic transcript (must be in English or Bahasa Indonesia) 
  5. Curriculum Vitae/Resume 
  6. Study Plan 
  7. Motivation Letter 
  8. Medical Health Certificate 
  9. Recommendation Letter 
  10. Letter of Statement (Agreement to not work and not violate Indonesian law, template available at website: www.oia.usk.ac.id) 
  11. Letter of Guarantee (Parent/Guardian agreement to provide living allowance) 
  12. Bank Statement (showing financial capability for self financing students) 
  13. Registration fee of USD 55

Doctoral Degree: 

  1. A recent photograph sized 4×6 cm with RED background 
  2. Scanned original passport copy (cover page and front page) 
  3. Scanned original certificate degree (must be in English or Bahasa Indonesia) 
  4. Scanned original academic transcript (must be in English or Bahasa Indonesia) 
  5. Curriculum Vitae/Resume
  6. Research Proposal

  8. Letter of support from Universitas Syiah Kuala supervisor 
  9. Medical Health Certificate

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

1. For Bachelor Degree Programs: 

  • Grade 12 high school certificate OR relevant equivalent certificate (with relevant background) with a GPA of 3.00 or equivalent. The certificate must be officially certified by the Ministry or Department of Education of the country of issue.
  • Language Proficiency requirement:  TOEFL PBT/ITP: 400 

USK also requires that the candidate pass the Indonesian Language Certificate (for those who apply for programs to be offered by using Bahasa Indonesia (Language of Indonesia).

    2. For Master Degree Programs

    • Bachelor degree in any field of study with a minimum GPA of 3.00 out of 4.00.
    • The certificate certified by the Ministry of Education of the country of issue.
    • Language Proficiency requirement: TOEFL PBT /ITP: 450.

    3. For Doctorate Degree Program

    • Master’s degree in any field of study with a minimum GPA of 3.00 out of 4.00. The certificate must be certified by the Ministry of the country of issue.
    • Language Proficiency requirement: TOEFL PBT /ITP: 500.
